The Bay of Kotor in spring is otherworldly πΊ. The surrounding mountains are green, the sea is calm, and the air is crystal clear. The tourist rush hasn't arrived yet and prices are very reasonable. May is the perfect month.
Peak season β the sea at its absolute finest and the atmosphere electric π. But Budva and Kotor become overwhelmingly packed and prices shoot skyward. Book months in advance.
September in Montenegro is simply golden π. The sea is still wonderfully warm (26Β°C), the summer crowds have retreated, and prices have eased. Bay of Kotor and Split draped in autumn mountain colours. October is excellent for nature walks.
The coast goes quiet and many hotels close. Kotor stays beautiful and peaceful. The inland mountains (KolaΕ‘in) become a ski resort β·οΈ.
